Keep estimates and actual effort separate
Your growing project has two kinds of numbers: what you expect and what you actually record.
Create two columns
Put estimates and actual observations in separate columns. Start with one proposed task, its date, and the question it is meant to answer. An estimate is useful when its status stays visible. It should not quietly become a statement about how much work every household or growing setup requires.
Record only what happened
Leave the actual column blank until you have something to record. If you later observe the task, include the circumstances that shaped it. A partial observation should stay partial. Do not fill gaps with a familiar number from a social post or treat someone else’s routine as your own experience.
Keep the uncertainty
Add an unknowns column for missing instructions, willingness to help, or conditions still needing investigation. This keeps the record useful even when the original estimate changes. The worksheet is an original planning aid, not a labor forecast or a claim about how much food a setup can produce.
Use the log for one next decision
At review time, ask what the record changed about the next step. Keep a task small, seek better information, or revisit an assumption. Share a general question if you comment, rather than private schedules or household records. No new planning product is required to use these headings.

Optional planning supplies
Start with paper, a pencil, and anything you already own. A notebook or binder can help keep observations, source links, and household project questions together.
