Keep, simplify, pause or research
Your next step has four useful options: keep, simplify, pause, or research.
Keep what still serves a purpose
Choose Keep for a useful part of the record or proposal that still fits the household’s question. Write why you want to retain it. The choice should refer to information you actually have, rather than a promise that a particular system will work for everyone.
Simplify what is hard to use
Choose Simplify when headings, scope, or coordination make the next step harder to understand. Keep essential sources and unresolved questions visible. Reducing the plan should clarify responsibilities rather than quietly dropping work someone is depending on.
Pause an unstarted idea honestly
Choose Pause when an unstarted proposal does not fit current attention or information. Existing plants, equipment, and accepted responsibilities still need appropriate care and arrangements. A pause in planning is not a substitute for those requirements. Discuss the actual situation with the people involved.
Research the missing answer
Choose Research when the next decision depends on a specific unknown. Name the question and a relevant source, then agree on a return point if others are involved. No new purchase is required to use these four options. You can change the choice when the evidence changes.
Bring this checklist
- Keep actual observations separate from interpretations.
- Record source, date and scope.
- Mark proposed versus agreed responsibilities.
- Choose one next investigation and return point.
Optional planning supplies
Start with paper, a pencil, and anything you already own. A notebook or binder can help keep observations, source links, and household project questions together.
