Choose the next household friction to investigate
Before adding another household project, choose one recurring friction to understand.
Name a recurring task
Choose one household task that raises a repeated question. Describe what someone is trying to do and where the uncertainty appears. Start with a specific example if you have one; otherwise label the example as a proposed question to investigate.
Ask the people involved
Invite the people who do or depend on the task to describe what they would want to be easier. Do not turn their names into assigned follow-up. Record willingness separately from a suggestion, and avoid assuming that everyone experiences the same friction.
Keep the cause open
Separate what was observed from what you think caused it. A hard-to-find instruction, unclear return location, or unconfirmed request may suggest a question without settling the explanation. Note the source or conversation that could clarify the next decision.
Choose a bounded next check
Write one answer you would like to find and ask who, if anyone, wants to follow up. Keep purchases and larger projects as proposals. A page in an existing notebook can hold the question while you decide whether any new arrangement is needed.
Bring this checklist
- Name one task and the question it raises.
- Keep sources, dates, scope and unknowns visible.
- Separate proposals from actual agreements.
- Choose a willing next check; keep private details private.
Optional planning supplies
Start with paper, a pencil, and anything you already own. A notebook or binder can help keep observations, source links, and household project questions together.
